Challenge:
The SDK dealt with a number of issues connected with security. Basically Secure file access SDK need appeared when organization started producing dozens of files with sensitive data. There was a need to manage and protect sensitive data, especially used in various cloud services. Most SDKs of this kind use drivers, require installation and computer configuration, need administration permissions or can decrypt on the device only.
Solution:
Unlike the other SDKs the one developed by our team works without any drivers. So, no installation, configuration or administration permission is required. Chosen data is kept on the disk in encrypted format and all decryption is performed on-the-fly. Users can be restricted to be able to read only. For protected sessions clipboard is encrypted and sending data via TCP/IP can be blocked as well. One can also operate the applications that let open or edit certain files on definite conditions only (for a specific period of time, by using a pre-defined application, etc.).
